A keen interest in poetry and visual art led Kailash to type design. He mainly draws letters and explores designs in the Devanagari script which are fuelled with his earnest passion for calligraphy. Plans of designing letters for Bangla and Malayalam is one of his open secrets. Besides, Kailash’s music taste oscillates from classical and folk to metal and rap across Indian languages, which he shares with a tinge of cross-cultural jokes. He graduated from SJJIA, Mumbai in 2018. Gotu Latin, Noto Serif Dogra and Anek Devanagari are some of the typefaces he has designed at Ek Type.

Tathagata (he/him) is a 26 year old type and graphic designer, currently exploring type design in his mother tongue, Bangla. After completing his B.Tech. in Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science, he went on to do the obvious — a Masters in Graphic Design. Other than drawing letters, he likes to learn about philosophy and politics and is the first one to start discussing politics at a party (if he is present at one, which itself is rare)... so overall a pretty “fun” person to have around. He ends up using humour (often self-deprecating) to deal with his awkwardness. You can mostly find him in his room, scrolling through media content and shouting at his catto.

Sidharth (he/him) is a type and graphic designer, originally from Chennai, India. He designs for Tamil, his mother tongue, but thinks in English, and doesn't know how to feel about that. He started reading at a very young age, and has wanted to be a writer for as long as he can remember, but somewhere along the line, got distracted by the design of the books he was reading. He now tries (often unsuccessfully) to balance both interests, by working at the intersection of design with books, language, and culture. He also enjoys exploring design through printing techniques and coding, and still holds out hope of writing an epic fantasy novel at some point.
